The Office of Equal Opportunity and Ethics monitors compliance with policies and laws which ensure equal opportunity for students, employees and applicants for admission and employment. It is responsible for addressing and investigating, if necessary, student and employee concerns regarding harassment or discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, disability, national origin, citizenship status, ancestry, age, order of protection status, genetic information, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, arrest record status, military status, or unfavorable discharge from military service. The Director of this Office serves as the Title IX Coordinator (addressing and making every effort to remedy sex discrimination) and the Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator (evaluating employees’ requests for reasonable accommodation based on a disability). In addition, the Director of this Office is the University’s Ethics Officer, promoting an ethical environment for the University community and ensuring compliance with state ethics laws.
